Thereal-timevisualizationof3DGISatawholecityscalealwaysfacesthechallengeofdynamicdataloadingwithhigh-efficiency.Basedonthemulti-tierdistributed3DGISframework,thispaperpresentsamulti-levelcacheapproachfordynamicdataloading.Itaimstoestablishin3DGISspatialdatabaseengine(3DGIS-SDE)theunifiedmanagementmechanismofcachesonthreelevels,including:theclientmemorycache(CMC)orientedtosharingapplication,theclientfilecache(CFC)organizedbyindex,aswellastheapplicationservermemorycache(ASMC)ofstructuralconsistency.Withthehelpoftheproposedoptimizedcachereplacementpolicy,multi-levelcacheconsistencymaintenanceaswellasmultithreadloadingmodeldesignedinthepaper,theengineisabletoadaptivelymakefulluseofeach-levelcachesaccordingtotheirownapplicationpropertiesandachieveeffectivecoordinationbetweenthem.Finally,apractical3DGISdatabasebasedonOracle11gisemployedfortest.Theexperimentalresultsprovethisapproachcouldsatisfymulti-userconcurrentapplicationsof3Dvisualexploration.
